[Cilvie] Tomorrowland

2015 [Action, Adventure] from Brad Bird. With: George Clooney and Britt Robertson.

A movie that stands out for its aesthetics and strong scenes complemented with a strong message about balance. A good choice for summer.

** From here on out there shall be spoilers**

Without knowing what to expect from this film, my option to be fully surprised, i left the theater filled with a infectious smile of happiness, a feeling that only good movies can provide you.

In the more technical aspects it was flawless. Everything was well produced, the present scenes were very realistic and the ones in the future felt real. The colors, the sounds effects, the sound track, all comes together to create the universe of Tomorrowland. The performances of the main actors and the dynamics created in the interactions worked pretty well and i must bring to the light the fantastic Britt Robertson and Hugh Laurie, naturally the protagonist and the main villain, a bit predictable but with an astonishing monologue that stole the show.

It was indeed hard to guess the premise with the previous knowledge that it was based on a ride of Disneyland so any bet was valid. While many doubt the ability to create a good story i think the director was smart, using a familiar name to his advantage and building a current story about recent events. The most present theme was the fact that there are so many horrible news out there, but worst than that is the obsession it creates in people, the need to keep constant track of it, craving for the spectacle, wanting the extinction. Pumped up by broadcasting networks and spreading it like a virus on social media so the world can feed the addiction.

You may think it flips the coin to the opposite and creates a fantastical illusion of the optimist fever dream but thankfully they were a bit smarter than that. So what is the final lesson? There are bad things out there but it doesn’t mean it’s the end. We can all take action and create a better future with our hands. Just remember to feed the right wolf.

So what are you waiting for? Go find the movie in the nearest movie theater or find it on Netflix and judge it yourself. Score? A pretty pin with a trip to Tomorrowland.

May The Almighty GIP be with you, L.T:Htlls
